Fixed at the curb
Each of these has a point where it stops being a roadside job and becomes a tow. We will say so rather than charge you twice.
Jump starts
A proper pack, hooked to the manufacturer's jump points so nothing gets cooked. We test the battery and the charging system on the spot.
When it becomes a tow
A dead alternator quits again a mile down the road. We hook up and take it to Complete Auto Tech.
Tire changes
Spare mounted, wheel torqued, flat stowed. We bring our own jack and air: the one under your trunk floor is not for a soft shoulder.
When it becomes a tow
No spare, a locking lug with no key, a seized wheel, or a blowout that took the sidewall and the fender with it.
Lockouts
Opened with proper tools, without prying trim or bending the frame. We ask for ID and registration every time. If a child or a dog is shut in and it is hot, call 911 first.
When it becomes a tow
Keys truly lost, or an immobilizer that will not accept a spare. We tow it to wherever the replacement is cut.
Fuel delivery
Enough gas or diesel to reach a station. Diesel drivers, say so on the phone: run dry, the system may need priming, and that is a different job.
When it becomes a tow
Wrong fuel in the tank. Do not start it: starting it is the expensive mistake.

Dead in a driveway or a lot
Nine times out of ten it's the battery, and a jump gets you moving without a tow. If it's the starter or the alternator, we hook up and bring it to Complete Auto Tech.
